About

My Story

My name is Jason King, I'm the owner of Servant's Heart Natural Well-Being Products and my journey with natural well-being products might be similar to yours.

The genesis for Servant’s Heart was inspired by my great-niece, Gabriella. Ella was born with severe disabilities. A rare SCN2A-related disorder led to a rare form of epilepsy - Dravet Syndrome. See more about SCN2A-related disorders at the bottom of this page.

At 18 months old, Ella was on 10 different prescribed medications and was having upwards of 80 seizures a day. She was taken off the pharmaceuticals and started taking CBD oil. From that moment, she has not had a seizure. It has been almost 8 years.

CBD was an absolute blessing for my niece and that motivated me to begin exploring CBD and other natural solutions to help with my own health issues. I’m a disabled war veteran and suffered from many mental and physical health problems in the past. I no longer suffer from any of them.

My health is not perfect, but I’ve been able to recover from many conditions and effectively mitigate others. Empathizing with those who are struggling with various health issues and wanting the same relief my niece and I found is a large part of Servant’s Heart’s reason for being.

Our Business Model

Servant’s Heart will be donating 90% of all profits to help those in need. 75% will donated to an organization serving children (recipient selected each year), in honor of my late stepfather, Paul, and my mother, Pat, who fostered many children and adopted four of my siblings.

15% will go to the SCN2A Foundation (scn2afoundation.org) in honor of my niece, Ella, and all other children with this life-threatening condition and all those who have succumbed to it.

SCN2A (Sodium Voltage-Gated Channel Alpha Subunit 2) is a gene that provides instructions for making a protein critical for the normal function of neurons. This protein forms sodium channels, which are tiny pores in the cell membrane that control the flow of sodium ions into neurons. These channels play a crucial role in generating and transmitting electrical signals in the brain and other parts of the nervous system. Mutations in the SCN2A gene can lead to various neurological disorders, including epilepsy, autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability, and other developmental delays.

The SCN2A Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by SCN2A-related disorders. The foundation aims to support research efforts to better understand these disorders, develop effective treatments, and ultimately find a cure. Additionally, the SCN2A Foundation provides resources, support, and advocacy for affected individuals and their families, helping them navigate the challenges associated with these conditions. Through fundraising initiatives, awareness campaigns, and collaboration with researchers, clinicians, and other stakeholders, the SCN2A Foundation strives to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by SCN2A-related disorders.
